It is recommended to contact the family and introduce yourself before meeting with them. If you will stay overnight with a family, it is advised that you ask them what you need to bring or prepare. Because each family has its own living habits and routines due to different cultures and customs, you are advised to check with the family members in advance if you are unsure about whether they are appropriate or not, and to respect those differences.
If the food, living environment or habits in Taiwan are different from what you are used to, it is advised to adopt them as part of your learning experience and consider it a great opportunity to expand your culture perspectives.
Each hosting experience is unique. If there are concerns that require special attention, please call the Host Family Hotline at 04-24517250 ext. 2486, Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. For emergencies, please call 119 for an ambulance, 110 for police, and report the emergency to your Campus Safety Center.
