This means that regardless of whether they subsequently participate in exchange programs in other countries, overseas students who have obtained a diploma from a Taiwanese university or college can, upon completion of their studies, apply for employment in Taiwan based on either the general qualifications for overseas graduates or the Points System for Overseas Students. The employer-to-be does the application. 【衛生福利部中央健康保險署】National Health Insurance Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare 1. 僑外交換學生經領有居留證明文件且在臺居留滿6個月，應依規定參加健保，繳納保險費並享有健保之醫療給付。如前開居留文件撤銷、廢止或效期屆滿者，不符參加全民健保資格，已參加者，應辦理退保。嗣後如重新申請居留證明文件入臺，納保資格應重新計算在臺居留滿6個月。倘渠等重新取得居留證明文件進入臺灣且為有一定雇主之受僱者，應自受僱日參加健保，否則應重新等待6個月始符合加保資格。 Upon obtaining a residence permit and residing in Taiwan for a duration of 6 months, overseas exchange students are required to participate in the National Health Insurance (NHI) program as per regulations. They must pay insurance premiums and are entitled to medical benefits under the NHI. If the aforementioned residence document is revoked, invalidated, or its validity expires, and the individual no longer qualifies for NHI, those who have already enrolled must apply for insurance withdrawal. Subsequently, if they reapply for a residence permit to enter Taiwan, their eligibility for NHI coverage will be recalculated based on residing in Taiwan for another 6 months. If they reacquire a residence permit and enter Taiwan as employed individuals with a specific employer, they must enroll in the NHI program from the date their employment begins. Otherwise, they must wait for another 6 months before becoming eligible for NHI coverage again. 2. 學生如欲在臺繼續居留或居留事由變更，請於居留效期屆滿前，向核發機關(內政部移民署)申請核發居留證明文件，以免影響健保權益。 If students wish to continue residing in Taiwan or need to change the purpose of their residence, then in order to prevent any disruption to their NHI benefits, they must apply to the issuing authority (Ministry of the Interior's National Immigration Agency) for issuance of a residence permit before the current residence permit's expiration date. 3. 另有關學生於加保期間，如預定出境超過6個月以上者，可以選擇辦理停保，應於出境前洽請學校辦理，停保期間暫停繳納保險費，健保署亦暫停提供醫療給付。 For students whose NHI coverage is currently active but plan to depart Taiwan for more than 6 months, they have the option to suspend their insurance coverage. Prior to their departure, they must contact their university to arrange for insurance suspension. During the suspension period, insurance premiums will be temporarily halted, and the National Health Insurance Administration will also temporarily suspend medical benefits. |
