We are a host family from Taichung, and we will visit our artist friend Mr. Michael Zhang at his beautiful traditional house in Daya District, Taichung. — Mai Ya Tang.
About Mai Ya Tang
Mai Ya Tang is a traditional Taiwanese courtyard house surrounded by farmland.
It is a living space filled with murals, paintings, plants, and local stories.
Here, you will experience everyday culture, nature, and the spirit of Taiwan.

Meet the Artist — Michael Zhang
Mr. Zhang is a local artist from Taichung.
His artworks are inspired by children, animals, nature, and the land he grew up with.
He believes art isn’t just something on the wall—art should be part of everyday life.
That’s why he opened his family courtyard to friends, conversations, food, and music.
Activity Highlights

Music exchange-There will be a piano and guitar.
If you love music, you’re very welcome to play, sing, or simply enjoy together.
