| 答覆 | 移民署針對居留屆期之外國人，因護照屆期需向該國駐臺機構申請更新者，得檢附該駐臺機構收件證明辦理展延，原則上核發1個月效期，必要時得酌予延長3個月效期。另外國人須於居留屆期前申辦延期手續，如已逾期者無法於線上系統辦理，相關逾期手續須先洽居住地之移民署服務站詢問。 For foreigners whose residency and passports are set to expire and must apply for renewal at their respective representative offices in Taiwan, the National Immigration Agency requires the presentation of the representative office’s document handling as evidence to apply for an extension. Generally, one month’s extension period is granted, and three months when necessary. Furthermore, foreigners are required to file their application for a visa extension before their residency expires, or else they will not be eligible to apply online. Applicants can request more information at their nearest NIA service center. |
